Fiction Books

Fiction Book Genre

Can you define the Fiction genre? I don't think there is really one way to describe this vast genre. If you ask 10 different authors or even a hundred other authors, you will get 100 different answers. I would say that fiction refers to any story that comes directly from the writer or author's imagination. It has no specific limitations other than not being factual.   That isn't to say it can't include elements or facts based upon the world we live in,  but it is not limited to the rules, laws, physics, or any other belief we hold in our current understanding of our world today. Adventure-lit, science fiction, romance, fantasy, LitRPG, crime thrillers are all fiction genres.

Examples of fiction I enjoy include Dark Glory War by Michael Stackpole, Morning Star by David Gemmell, The Last Legends of Earth by A.A. Attanasio, and Man Who Used the Universe by Alan Dean foster.

Why I Embrace Fiction

I think the answer to why I am brace fiction writing over nonfiction writing is relatively apparent. Regardless of the subgenre, the entire world, character creation, and story development is 100% in my control when you write fiction novels. There are no limits set on how creative I can be; there are no limits on what I can and can't do to my characters and ultimately lets me share my own fantasies with you guys precisely the way I want.

As you can see from the list above, I don't like to limit myself to one subgenre set. While some series truthfully do better than the others. If I wasn't writing fiction over a broader spectrum, my storytelling ability would be handcuffed and produce blocks in my evolution as a storyteller.
